Postsaver sleeves offer a proven solution to extend the lifespan of wooden fence and gate posts by preventing ground-line rot—the leading cause of post failure. These sleeves feature a dual-layer barrier comprising a tough polythene outer layer and a meltable bituminous inner liner. When heated, the sleeve shrinks to form an airtight and watertight seal around the post, locking in preservatives and locking out moisture, fungi, and oxygen. This protection is focused on the critical first 150mm (6 inches) below ground, where decay is most likely to occur.
